Thanks for visiting this website. As well as giving an overview of a different technique each week I usually give a short presentation that will introduce to you an art historical term or two, the work of an artist or the history behind a particular material. Nothing too long, but it's a good way of giving people a break and people generally find it quite helpful. For more check out my other website www.lifedrawingclasses.co.uk I also have another wordpress blog www.beginnersartclasses.wordpress.com which contains information related to my past experiences as a tutor and some of the artists I've found and hope you will find inspirational I'll also be posting some stuff here so keep popping back every couple of weeks and I'll try and get some new stuff for you to look at.

IN 1997 I started one of Will's classes at St. Werburghs Community Centre. I also had a natural ability but lacked confidence. After doing a paint and draw class and later a few life drawing classes, the following year I started a 2 year evening A-Level Art Course and finally passed with a Grade A. My interest in design and architecture grew over this period and in 2004 I left a sales job I had been in for over 12 years to go freelance as an architectural designer. I now work at a small practice in bristol and continue to paint. From small acorns grow big trees (or something like that!). Anyway, if you have the will (pardon the pun!) go for it and thanks to Will for a great course.....try it soon!

Fantastic!! Now I can draw! I’m truly amazed. I’ve always enjoyed craft activities, but was useless at art at school and convinced I couldn’t draw. Will has taught me otherwise. I wish I’d taken Will’s classes sooner. I’ve really enjoyed my Thursday afternoon’s and have learnt so many techniques, and a bit of art history to boot. I cannot recommend Will’s classes highly enough. I’m taking my sketchbooks away on holiday with me this year. Will’s classes are inspirational!

I just wanted to say Thanks to Will! His class helped me gain the confidence to apply to UWE to study Art - and I got in!!! The work I did in Wills class really added to my portfolio.

I've never tried painting and drawing and only joined the class to keep my wife company. When I joined I warned will that I had difficulty drawing curtains let alone anything else. Am I glad I joined! I can't wait for the next session and have found that I CAN draw - after one lesson I sketched an elephant ornament we have at home and it was a pretty good likeness. We haven't completed our 1st course of lessons but I am already having a go at a painting of HMS Bristol for a friend. THANKS WILL - I've got a new hobby for my od age.

Thank you so much for the beginners class. We have found it really helpful and great fun. Can't believe we have covered so much ground with different material and in just ten weeks and have really appreciated your encouragement and giving us a chance to have a go. Brilliant! Best Wishes

At school my art teacher asked to me drop the subject and do cookery instead. I have spent most of my life thinking that I was unable to paint or draw. Thanks to Will and his relaxed, supportive and very encouraging style of teaching I have started to draw things that are actually recognisable. I am amazed and delighted and have discovered a new hobby. The class is friendly, all materials are supplied and you work at your own pace. Many thanks Will. I have already signed up to the next course. June 2014

I really look forward to Will's Tuesday evening art class and will be so disappointed when it comes to an end. He has helped me to rediscover my passion for art with his enthusiastic and inspirational teaching skills. Never having had the opportunity to use all the different mediums before, I've really loved experimenting and learning new skills. I have produced some works of art that I'm truly proud of AND I feel so relaxed after the lesson that I strongly recommend everyone to come along and find out for themselves. Your inner artist will be unleashed! Thank you Will.
