Will at the Sky Arts Den, Bath Literature Festival 2011
At the start of this year I was invited by RPM media, a marketing company to teach free art classes as part of a package that they'd put together called the Sky Arts Den. The Den is a kind of touring road show that visits arts festivals up and down the country providing a mixture of entertainments and workshops, . The pictures below are taken from some of the workshops that I taught during the week and some of my outdoor "busking sessions" which consisted of me producing 5 minute portrait sketches outside the Abbey. It was a really positive few days and provided the ideal environment for people to come along and have a go at a variety of different techniques and hopefully rediscover their creative side. Just the sort of thing I'm interested in! Participants were also invited to enter for a raffle at each venue for a prize of £1000 to be spent on creative courses of some kind. The lucky winner in this case was Mike Plows, a volunteer coordinator at the library who got in touch with me a month or two after the event had finished. As well as joining up for a further block of courses he also very kindly supplied me with a testimonial which you can read here, along with other comments and remarks by people who have done the class.
This is a small selection of pictures from the various classes that I've taught over the years. Images 13 and 14 are from an informal presentation that I gave for some ENT specialists from the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
