I have enjoyed and valued the drawing classes with Will immensely.   I have always considered myself unable to draw at all. I joined Will Stevens' art class in 2006.  I had never even picked up a paint brush but had always wanted to do some sort of art work.  I am 72 and I can't believe the painting and drawing I am doing in such a short time.  He takes time with each individual person and gives a lot of encouragement. I really enjoy Will's art classes.  There is a good mix of "theory",  art history and art techniques, and practical.  I particularly enjoy experimenting with paint and colour mixing but I have also amazed myself by producing drawings that actually look like I want them to.  I really look forward to Mondays. After a weekend at my parents clearing out the loft of all my childhood toys etc. I came across all my old paintings from when I was a toddler through to my school & university days. I had honestly forgotten just how much I enjoyed drawing & painting and I suddenly wanted to have a go again. This prompted immediate action when I returned to Bristol to google ‘art classes in Bristol’ and this is when I found details of Will’s Tuesday night art classes at Bristol Grammar School.

I told a friend at work that I was going to join, as she had also been looking for classes in the Bristol area. We joined in the second term of last years course and I can happily say I have thoroughly enjoyed picking up the paintbrush, pencil and charcoal again and trying new painting and drawing techniques.

I have really enjoyed going to the art classes and would thoroughly recommend them!
